5 Dynasty Buys Under 25 - WR Edition
Chew highlights 5 wide receivers under 25 that you should be buying this dynasty offseason.
Age is a crucial factor to building a formidable dynasty roster for the long haul. The younger players that still have something to prove are often the most polarizing as dynasty managers draw their figurative lines in the sand.
Wide receivers tend to have a larger window where they are productive for fantasy. Just look at players like Mike Evans, Davante Adams and Tyreek Hill, who have remained productive into their 30’s. But in an ideal world dynasty managers are acquiring receivers on their ascension and taking advantage of their peak dynasty value via fantasy production or trade. In this article I highlight five receivers under the age of 25 that are buys in dynasty.

*Qualifying receivers are under 25 years old by the beginning of the 2025 NFL season and outside the Top-36 in WR fantasy points per game in 2024. Dynasty trades sourced from Dynasty Daddy.
Jalen McMillan (WR 46 — 10.1 ppg — 23 years old)
2024 Stats: [37 catches / 58 targets - 461 yards - 8 TDs] — [4 rushes - 43 yards]
McMillan was drafted in the third round in 2024, which was last amongst his fellow Washington Husky receivers (see next player). Despite the presence of veterans Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, McMillan boasted a snap share of 75%+ for the first three weeks.
Unfortunately Godwin dislocated his ankle in Week 7; however, McMillan stepped up and truly hit his stride in Week 14. From Week 14 to Week 18 McMillan totaled seven TD’s and 20% of his targets were in the red zone. While Godwin was absolutely dealing prior to his injury, it is unclear as to whether he will be resigned by the Buccaneers. Enter McMillan who could see a continuation of usage since Week 14, albeit with a regression to the mean regarding TD’s.
Dynasty Trades to acquire Jalen McMillan:
Jalen McMillan ←→ ‘25 2.07 pick
Jalen McMillan + Travis Etienne ←→ Xavier Legette + ‘25 3.07 pick + ‘25 4.02 pick
Jalen McMillan + ‘25 2.03 pick ←→ Dalton Kincaid
Rome Odunze (WR-54 — 8.5 ppg — 23 years old)
2024 Stats: [54 catches / 101 targets - 734 yards - 3 TDs] & [3 rushes - 15 yards]
It was not even a year ago that Odunze was picked ninth by the Bears alongside fellow rookie Caleb Williams. Despite the draft capital, Odunze had a so-so rookie season but that was not entirely his fault with the Williams bottom five in completion percentage, passing yards, and sacks.
There is reason for optimism in dynasty with a new coaching staff in 2025, even if we don’t know who that is quite yet. Veteran Keenan Allen is a free agent and if he is not resigned there is an opening for Odunze to reach his first 1,000 yard season. We have been spoiled by so many rookie receivers exceeding expectations while some need a season or two to ascend in dynasty. Odunze is poised for that ascention.
Dynasty Trades to acquire Rome Odunze:
Rome Odunze ←→ ‘25 1.07 pick
Rome Odunze ←→ Tyrone Tracy + ‘25 2.03 pick
Rome Odunze + Trey McBride + ‘25 3.01 pick ←→ Brock Bowers + Gabe Davis + ‘25 1.07 pick
Jalen Coker (WR 56 — 8.4 ppg — 23 years old)
2024 Stats: [32 catches / 46 targets - 478 yards - 2 TDs]
The undrafted rookie out of Holy Cross made quite an impression alongside a fellow undrafted receiver in Adam Thielen. Coker joined a Carolina team that needed playmakers everywhere and the Panthers got off to a rough start in 2024. Despite trading for (and away) Diontae Johnson and trading up to select Xavier Legette, Coker was able to carve out a role when healthy.
The Panthers will likely add weapons to continue Bryce Young’s progression; however, a bulk of their offseason moves should be focused on the defensive side of the ball. With that being said, look for the receivers already on the roster to build chemistry with Young throughout the offseason and pickup where they left off. Coker’s ceiling is limited in a run-heavy offense but he could become a weekly flex-worthy receiver as the offense improves.
Dynasty Trades to acquire Jalen Coker:
Jalen Coker + Rashee Rice ←→ Jaxon Smith-Njigba
Jalen Coker + Rashod Bateman ←→ Romeo Doubs + ‘25 3.07 pick
Jalen Coker ←→ ‘27 3rd rd pick
Malik Washington (WR 102 — 4.1 ppg — 24 years old)
2024 Stats: [26 catches / 36 targets - 223 yards] & [5 rushes - 55 yards - 1 TD]
Washington had an outlandishly productive final collegiate season with UVA, which resulted in a sixth-round draft selection by the Dolphins in 2024. The former Wahoo was a favorite of mine in the 2024 draft class as I saw a bit of Panther great Steve Smith in him, playing well above his size. Though with minimal draft capital invested and top-tier veterans ahead of Washington, there was reason for skepticism in his rookie season.
It was a slow burn for Washington in 2024 but he earned his opportunities and for the last quarter of the season he more than doubled his snap share and targets per game. I do not expect Washington to usurp Tyreek Hill or Jaylen Waddle, but a sustained increase in touches is not unreasonable. The Dolphins’ offense should get back on track in 2025 and Washington serves as a cheap dynasty buy and/or throw in for a larger trade.
Dynasty Trades to acquire Malik Washington:
Malik Washington ←→ ‘25 4th rd pick
Malik Washington + ‘26 3rd rd pick ←→ Isaac Guerendo
Malik Washington + Tee Higgins + ‘25 2.02 pick + ‘26 1st rd pick ←→ Malik Nabers + ‘26 1st rd pick
Jordan Whittington (WR 109 — 3.3 ppg — 24 years old)
2024 Stats: [22 catches / 28 targets - 293 yards] & [2 rushes - 12 yards]
This is not the first time and it won’t be the last that I recommend Whittington as a buy in dynasty. The sixth round receiver just finished his rookie season with minimal production but that’s not how it started. Say what you will about the preseason but Whittington got extended opportunities and did the most with them.
The receiver room in Los Angeles will likely still be led by Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp in 2025; however, the Rams could lose Demarcus Robinson, Tutu Atwell, and Tyler Johnson in free agency. Whittington as a buy in dynasty is a no brainer considering his reasonable cost and opportunity for growth heading into his second year.
Dynasty Trades to acquire Jordan Whittington:
Jordan Whittington + ‘25 2.06 pick ←→ Rachaad White
Jordan Whittington + Chris Godwin ←→ Josh Downs + Antonio Gibson
Jordan Whittington + Cade Otton ←→ Jauan Jennings
So you lasted this long and hopefully you enjoyed it (that’s what she said). If you wouldn’t mind sharing this in your group message with your fellow dynasty degenerates I would greatly appreciate it!
